1st John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Most Christians are amazed to learn that SDA teaches that Jesus is Michael the Archangel, but Ellen G. White said He was Michael, so if they changed this, they'd need to reject her as "the spirit of prophecy" and they'd not be the remnant church!  So now they hold He's both God the Son, and Michael.  In fact, Ellen G. White DENIED the deity of Jesus, who in 1903 said, “The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty” (ms 140, SDA Commentary V, p. 1129).  Yet, modern SDA claim to believe in Jesus' deity and the Godhead in their official statement of faith (SDA Believe, # 2 and 4).

It makes a great difference "who" Jesus really is, for 2nd Corinthians 11:4 warned there'd be those who'd teach another Jesus, preach a different gospel, and have another spirit.  These marks identify cults, who invariably attack the Doctrine of Christ.  Early SDA's denied Jesus' deity saying He was only an archangel.  Their Commentary, volume 5, pg. 1129, cites Ellen White as saying...

“The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty.”

John 1:1-3,14; 10:33; 1st Timothy 2:5; 3:16; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 7:4; Revelation 1:8; 15:3, 16:5-7; and 17:14--all show that Jesus is Almighty God.  Ellen G. White is a LIAR!  The REAL Jesus is the God-man Christ Jesus.  He was never an Archangel!  He's not God-angel-man.  Clearly, SDA's have a different Jesus, a false Jesus.  It is important to note that Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's) teach the same false doctrine, i.e., that Jesus is Michael.  As with JW's, SDA's believe that Jesus is God; BUT, not Almighty God, clearly evidenced by Ellen G. White's statement above.

Recounting her vision of December, 1844, Ellen speaks of her and Jesus as "In a moment we were winging our way upward…" Seeing this, in the light of her calling Him "Michael the Archangel" (Desire of Ages pp. 99, 379; Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, p. 158; Prophets & Kings p. 572) one is led to question if she did not, in fact, really view Him as just that—an angel! And if so, what of His deity and bodily resurrection?

To make these aberrant views appear as Biblical, the SDA’s 1994 Clear Word Bible has changed the text to make Jesus Michael the Archangel in 1st Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 12:7 and Jude 9; and to make Him to be a mighty angel in Revelation 10:1,5,8 & 10.  This is because in her comments on Revelation chapters 1, 8, and 10, Ellen White identified these angels in Revelation as also being Jesus Christ! (SDA Commentary VII, 971+978; ms15, 1897; ms 59).

Dr. Walter Martin, in his book The Kingdom of the Cults, wrongfully labels SDA's as a "Christian cult," on the assumption that they believe in Jesus' deity.  Clearly, something is very wrong with the SDA view of Jesus, and His deity.  By lowering Jesus to the level of Michael, an archangel, they have perverted Christ's deity.  It is clear that SDA's employ double-talk.  They talk-out-of-both-sides-of-their-mouth.  On one hand they promote Ellen G. White as the "Spirit of Prophecy," who openly denied that Jesus is Almighty God; but on the other hand they claim to believe in the deity of Christ.  It is important to understand that JW's also believe in the deity of Christ, i.e., that He is God, but they DENY that He is ALMIGHTY God.  In Revelation 1:8 Jesus claims to be "The Almighty." 

In Isaiah 9:6 Jesus is called "The Mighty God" (King James Bible).  SDA's are liars, as was Ellen Gould White.  However, SDA's in contrast to JW's, do believe in the Godhead.  This fact confuses many people, misleading them to think that SDA's are Christians; BUT, they certainly are not.  Catholics also believe in the Godhead, but they elevate Mary in idolatrous worship (Isaiah 42:8), and make her a mediator, which she is NOT (1st Timothy 2:5).  The Jesus of SDA is Michael; the Jesus taught in the Scriptures is NOT!  To teach that Michael is Jesus clearly has negative IMPLICATIONS, and creates a host of doctrinal problems for SDA's to counter.

By the way, there is NO such thing as a "Christian cult."  SDA is heathen; not Christian.  I've read several SDA websites, which profess to believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; BUT, they also teach that Jesus is Michael.  This is NOT the Jesus of the Scriptures.  The SDA, Clear Word Bible perverts Jude 1:9...

King James Bible - "Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee."

Clear Word Bible - "In contrast to these ungodly men is the Lord Jesus Christ, also called Michael, the archangel in charge of the entire angelic host. When He was challenged by Satan about His intentions to resurrect Moses, He didn't come against Satan with a blistering attack nor did he belittle him. He simply said, 'God rejects your claim to his body.'"

There you have it--SDA's follow the demonic teaching of Ellen G. White, and other cults, that Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel.  The Jehovah's Witnesses teach this same damnable heresy!  This is a subtle heresy, that attacks the deity of Christ.

Remember, Ellen G. White adamantly DENIED the deity of Jesus Christ.  Clearly, SDA's have a different definition of Christ's deity than the Word of God teaches.  SDA's have another Jesus (2nd Corinthians 11:4), not taught in the Scriptures.  Jesus Christ came to this earth as God-man; not God-angel-man.  Don't let anyone fool you from this moment forward... Seventh-Day Adventism is of the Devil.
