Everyone will have a time in their life when they take their last breath and after the body dies the soul has 1 of 2 places in which it goes and there you will spend eternity. This is the most Life or Death matter you will ever consider so please above anything else please read and study your Bible to ensure you are in the faith that will give you Everlasting life and not everlasting torment. There are many fakers and idols, even being called a "jesus", and there is no Salvation in a lie. Many people believe they are already saved, many even confess a Jesus but when compared with what the Bible teaches it doesn't always line up and these people have crafted up a false "god" to serve which is an idol and use the name of God/Jesus Christ in vain just like anyone using God's name as a cuss word. Take time to make sure you are a wheat and not a tare, wise virgin and not a foolish virgin. No action or good work you can/will ever save you, this even means if a car is about to hit someone and you push them out of the way saving their life and sacrificing yours, you still will not earn your way to heaven or Salvation. If you haven't been converted and born again then you will open your eyes up in hell. Please spend some time and study out what the Bible says about Salvation and how man can be saved only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His works. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:" FREE GIFT Ephesians 2:8 We all are awful sinners that only deserve HELL, no Christian is better than the other “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). If you just came here because you want to goto heaven because it's the best place to go when you die or you don't want to goto hell then well friend you don't quite understand why a person gets born again. A person becomes born again because they are convicted that their beliefs/fables/false god/unbelief is wrong and realize that God is HOLY and demands perfection that man can never achieve in the flesh and are damned and that the only way to be redeemed is by and through Jesus Christ and His works. Repent or repentance that is required (and why) for Salvation: The repentance required to be born again is to turn from your idols/false god(s)/false doctrines/unbelief of the God of the Bible, or anything contrary to what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ and the gospel. This is quite a long story that I cover in a video, at some point I will write up and article please click "HERE to watch ", repent does not mean to just stop sinning, God repented in Exodus 32:14 (and God never and cannot sin), repentance is not just simply changing your mind, but a total change of heart, it's a deep thing, not something shallow. In short an atheist would come to the belief they were wrong in their view of a creation without a creator, the catholic would have to repent of beliefs such as God having a mother, praying to dead saints, that things like mass/water baptism/euachrist can save a person, purgatory, that anyone but Jesus is an intercessor or mediator between God and man, there is a very long list, Jews would no long believe they could be saved by their works, I have a FALSE RELIGIONS section of the articles menu for a much better explanation. The are thousands of cults and false religions/doctrines so repentance will be different for each person, though if you just study your Bible out God will lead you as to what you will need to repent of. Repentance is a state of your heart and not just how you think but to have it will change your very way thinking and believing, it's a complete change. BUT where Salvation is concerned repent does not mean to cease from your sins to be saved, once you have been saved Jesus will help you to do that, but until you have been brought into His body you have no power to stop sinning, you are a slave to sin Romans 6 " Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." What to believe to be born again / saved: Who is Jesus Christ: (Click here for detailed articles on the person of Jesus) Matthew 1: 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Jesus Christ came to save you from your SINS, not just eternal punishment in hell, and this also means you don't stop sinning to come to the Lord Jesus that you come to Him as a sinner and He saves you!) John 3:1 "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." There are many wolves that will tell you that this means you need to be baptized (John 3:5), but where do you read that? John 3: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him., Compare what Peter said in 1 Peter 1:23 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." these are the only 3 times you will find "born again" in the Bible. Pater is talking about the death of your old self, and being born again by the word of God and this faith will now cause you to be a new creature. Your flesh is corruptible, but God's word is pure. By repenting and turning to the Lord Jesus Christ you are born again! Acts 8: 36 And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Here in Acts you read that the eunuch believe on Jesus Christ (and was already saved) before he was baptized, thus you only need faith and belief on Jesus Christ to be saved, NO WORKS TO BE SAVED! Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved and thine house’ Ephesians 2: 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ 9Jesus unto good works, 9which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 10Wherefore remember, that ye [being] in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 11That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having 12no hope, and without God in the world: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; 15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; 16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: Romans 3: 19Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. 21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29[Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 9Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your] souls. 10Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: 11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. DO NOT LET SOMEONE FOOL YOU INTO BELIEVING THERE IS SOME OTHER WAY! WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST ONLY! Acts 4: 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Romans 10: 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? You are NOT saved by simply saying Jesus, verse 14 shows that confession is from belief and if you believe on Lord Jesus Christ you will confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, and in Romans you are not being taught a sinners prayer, to confess the Lord Jesus means that you will always confess Him before all men as Lord God Matthew 10:32 (Jesus Christ said) "Whosoever therefore shall confess [testify of] Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven." So clearly Romans 10:9 is not a pray but rather before all men you will not be ashamed to confess your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This also means that you have accept the name Lord Jesus Christ and you will not confess some other god or deny Him. ONLY JESUS SAVES: Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." NO OTHER NAME SAVES! Salvation is a gift of Grace by FAITH ALONE! Not to mention it is a gift you cannot put a price tag on, God the creator gave his ONLY begotten Son just for you! The King of kings and Lord of lords took YOUR place on the cross at Calvary and shed His precious blood to pay the debt you never could or can. So to sum up the Gospel: Jesus simply told us to “believe on Him” ... “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH ON HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40). If you “believe” upon Jesus Christ as your Savior, that is all that matters, and you WILL BE SAVED! Do you believe Jesus can save you? Do you believe that you are a sinner? Do you believe you deserve to go to Hell because of your sins? Do you believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood? Do you believe He was buried and rose up again three days later? Do you believe that Jesus came to the earth as God manifest in the flesh? Do you believe that God is manifest in 3 persons and that these three persons are all ONE GOD? Do you believe that Jesus was perfect and sinless, the only begotton Son of God? Do you believe the Bible is the word of God? If you believe these Bible truths You will be saved! WORKS DO NOT SAVE! BAPTISM DOESN'T SAVE! THE CHURCH CANNOT SAVE! YOUR PREACHER/PASTOR/PRIEST CANNOT SAVE! YOUR RELIGION CANNOT SAVE! THE ONLY THING THAT SAVES IS YOUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, it is all that matters, if someone is trying to take your faith, they are a thief and a robber! Did your belief come from a story you heard from someone or the Bible? If you will not believe the Bible it will be hard for you to believe in Jesus Christ, there is NO other book you need or any other book that can teach you better. Just remember you are trying to learn and understand God's word, your job isn't to change it. Without the Bible the true gospel of Jesus would not be known! You come the Lord Jesus Christ as you are A SINNER and you know there is only way to heaven and that is by having your sins WASHED by the Blood of the Lamb and all you have to do is simply REPENT (repent of your unbelief and faith in your dead works, this means anything you already believe that is contrary to what the Bible teaches and this varies depending on what you are coming out of, for instance, if you are a catholic then you will repent of the false doctrines of said cult, for others it could be even from the false belief of not believing in God at all) and BELIEVE John 3:15-18 & 36. and the works that the Lord Jesus Christ did are freely imputes unto all that will believe on Him!
1 Peter 3:18-22 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him."
By Grace are ye saved through faith Ephesians 2:8 Many people wonder if they need to pray and ask to be saved and the simple answer is NO, there is no Bible verse that teaches a "sinners prayer". God already promised you the free gift of Eternal Salvation, believe in your heart TRULY and you will be saved! Please review my studies about how the sinners prayer to be saved is a false doctrine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm1CSOETrcM and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBKVDej2W24 Also please reference my article on how altar calls and the sinners prayer is false https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsd9Z-MgifA or read at sharingthetruthinlove.com/article_read.asp?item=222
Also Jesus said that a memorial should be made mention of the woman that did what she could, Mary, just a sinner saved by FAITH please read www.sharingthetruthinlove.com/article_read.asp?item=283
In closing please note that "REPENT" does NOT mean to "stop sinning to be saved" or just chaning some bad habbits, Repent means a change of heart/mind to believe the truth and yes after a person believes the truth there should be fruit/works but works come AFTER conversion/Salvation not before or to attain it! 1 Peter 3:21 is clear about repentance "The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" Not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, you repent of the idols, old judgements, false doctrines, faith in dead works, RELIGION and believe the word of God and are transformed by it, born again in the Spirit. You do not work to merit Salvation, because you are converted you will produce fruit, some 30, some 60, and some 100 fold Matthew 13 / Mark 4, but believers produce works, we may not be close to perfect but there will be fruits of the Spirit according to Galatians chapter 5.
Study 2 Timothy 2 and you will find in verse 25 " if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;" Which means that they had to repent/turn from their unbelief to acknowledging of the truth. Please also listen to my study on the Law VS Grace or read at http://www.sharingthetruthinlove.com/article_read.asp?item=225 and learn how you are under Grace and what is God Bless and Jesus Loves You!
